Name: Asakura Hao
Age: 15 (at time when he appeared in the anime and manga)
Birth Date: 12 May 1985
Birth Place: Izumo; Japan
Blood Type: A
Description: Asakura Hao was Yoh's elder twin brother and was already living 1000 years
ago. He looks very much like Yoh and was like his dark side; like an evil twin. He was
an immensely powerful shaman who had already mastered the power of the five elements; giving him the power to control nature.
Indeed, it was because of his reputation at the time that the Asakura family became as well known as it is, and remains so
to this day.
The period that the original Hao lived in was a cruel one, the country was beset
by famine, diseases and war, and eventually Hao's heart was consumed with a hatred of humans.
When Hao learnt of the Shaman Fight, he sought to become the Shaman
King, and to create a world only of shamans, but his ambition was foiled by the remaining members of the Asakura family,
who gathered against him, and eventually defeated him.

Name: Asakura Yohmei
Age: 80
Birth Date: 2 July 1919
Birth Place: Izumo; Japan
Blood Type: O
Description: Asakura Yohmei is Yoh's grandfather,
and the head of the Asakura family. An Onmyouji, Yohmei specialises more in divination and fortune telling than combat,
and is often hired by people in the political and business worlds.
When Yoh's mother; Keiko fell pregnant, Yohmei divined that she would give birth
to the reincarnated Asakura Hao, and planned to kill the child as soon as it was born. When they discovered that she was carrying
twins, Yohmei reluctantly decided he would rather kill both of them than risk allowing Hao to be reborn. However, Yohmei hesitated
for a moment and that moment was all that Hao needed to summon his Spirit Of Fire and protect himself.
Yohmei seems to have had a large role in Yoh's upbringing, and trained Yoh since
he was very young. Yoh is very important to him, and perhaps because of this, Yohmei can be a little hard on Yoh at times.
Name: Asakura Kino
Age: 76
Birth Date: 24 March 1924
Birth Place: Aomori; Japan
Blood Type: A
Description: Asakura Kino is Yoh's grandmother and like Anna, is an Itako;
also known as a Spiritual Medium. She's also completely blind, but that doesn't seem to deter her spiritual
powers.
When Kino found Anna abandoned, she sensed the amount of power that Anna had, and
took her in as her student, training her as an Itako. It was Kino's idea later for Anna to be engaged to Yoh as he
needs to reach to his full strength to defeat Hao.
Name: Asakura Keiko
Age: 40
Birth Date: 18 February 1960
Birth Place: Izumo; Japan
Blood Type: A
Description: Asakura Keiko is Yoh and Hao's mother and is an office lady who also works
part time as a Miko at the neighbourhood Shinto shrine.
After marrying Mikihisa and falling pregnant, Keiko learned that one of the twins
that she was carrying was the reincarnated Asakura Hao. She was forced to decide between her maternal instincts to protect
her child and her duty as one of the Asakura family to ensure that Hao is stopped at all costs. In the end, she chose
to honour her duty as a member of the Asakura family, and agreed to let the twins be killed (although this did not end up
happening).
Name: Asakura Mikihisa (aka Asakura Mickey)
Age: 42
Birth Date: 9 October 1958
Birth Place: Hiroshima; Japan
Blood Type: A
Description: An powerful shugenja, Asakura Mikihisa is Yoh and Hao's father.
Born Maki Mikihisa, Mikihisa was adopted into the Asakura family when he married
Asakura Keiko (not an uncommon practice in Japan). When Hao and Yoh were born, Mikihisa helped Yohmei try to kill
Hao, and one side of his face was badly burnt by the Spirit Of Fire in the process; the reason that he now always wears his
wooden mask.
Mikihisa took the responsibility for letting Hao escape upon himself more than anyone
else, and soon after Yoh was born, he left to train and become stronger. He took on many mountains, and finally conquered
Mount Everest; the greatest challenge to any shugenja.
The long and short of all this, however, is that in reality Mikihisa is only Yoh's
father in name. As Mikihisa left soon after Yoh's birth, Yoh was raised mainly by Yohmei; his grandfather and the next
time Mikihisa appeared before Yoh was many years later, followed by his apprentice, Tamamura Tamao.
