EPISODE FIFTY THREE: BYE BYE
Lily Five’s first match is against Hao’s team. Manta suggests
they should just withdraw if they don’t want to die. Lily Five is stubborn, though, and refuses to leave the tournament
without a fight. The group stages a pep rally where Lily Five tries to convince themselves they might have a chance at defeating
Hao.
Yoh ventures out by himself looking for Hao. He asks why he killed the shamans he was fighting. Hao explains
that he will kill shamans who are not beneficial to him along with the humans. He then asks Yoh to become stronger and then
declares that he will kill Lily Five.
Yoh meets Lily Five and challenges them. He tells them that Hao’s furyoku
is much greater than his and if they can’t beat him, they don’t have a chance of beating Hao.
Meanwhile,
Mikihisa keeps insisting that the Ren team abandon their current training and find their grain of rice. Ren refuses and challenges
Mikihisa to train him. Mikihisa takes up the offer and knocks Ren around. Try as he might, Ren just can’t hit him with
anything he throws. Eventually, Ren is able to focused and eventually gets a hit in.
Meanwhile, Yoh challenges the
girls to hit him. Sally tries and misses. The rest of Lily Five OverSouls but are nothing compared to Yoh. He asks them once
again to withdraw. They refuse to go back to that day when everyone kicked them out of their lives for seeing spirits. Together
they combine their five point concentration hit at Yoh. He blocks four, but one slips by and hits him. He gives up at their
determination, but luckily, Anna is able to convince them that they should withdraw - they’d only have 3 of the 5 in
the actual match. Lily Five senses the severity of the circumstances and do withdraw. They decide to settle for becoming legendary
- the girls that displeased Hao during the tournament.
Realizing that they both still have a long ways to go, Yoh and
Ren resume their search for their grain of rice. In a flash, both cut at the sand to each find a grain… unfortunately
neither is theirs.
EPISODE FIFTY FOUR: THE 8TH ANGEL
The X-Laws make short work of their fight with some of Hao’s weaker
henchman. They start going for the kill once their opponents can no longer Oversoul, but Silva commands them to stop. Reluctantly,
the X-Laws walk away with Lyserg.
Meanwhile, Hao tries to recruit Fudou. She refuses, and her teammates make a futile
attempt to bind Hao before he summons his spirit to devour Fudou.
After the match, the boys are disheartened with Lyserg’s
recent lift path. Ryu is devastated.
At the X-Law camp, Lyserg is anxious to be awarded his own noble angel. Marco
informs him that as long as he remains confused, Jeanne-sama will withhold his angel. The group then walks away, leaving Lyserg
to his thoughts. Soon, he runs after them, asking to fight with them. Marco denies the request, and tells him to keep Jeanne-sama
safe. Marco then explains that in order to receive his angel, he must be willing to part with his spirit, Morphine.
Soon
after, Lyserg sits quietly in thought. Suddenly, he jumps up and starts running. Jeanne-sama explains that if you desire something,
you must also throw something away. As Lyserg runs, Morphine follows, but Lyserg doesn’t look back. Finally, she lets
him go and scouts out Yoh and the boys.
Elsewhere, the X-Laws are engaged in battle with some of Hao’s boys.
Lyserg runs in front without realizing that Morphine isn’t with him until it’s just about too late. Fortunately,
their opponents are no match for the remaining X-Laws. When the battle draws to an end, Morphine flies up with Yoh and co.
close behind. Lyserg strongly reprimands her for humiliating him. He then turns his back to her and Yoh and walks back to
the X-Laws. He tosses his medium behind him as he walks away.
Jeanne-sama is quite pleased with Lyserg’s behavior
and awards him the angel, Zeroel. Marco then reveals that both Yoh and Hao will be eliminated by the Gate of Babylon.
EPISODE FIFTY FIVE: GATE OF BABYLON
Ryu has become dysfunctional with grief over Lyserg. The shamans sit
inside Silva’s restaurant, which is packed today. Silva explains that there has not been a single fight today. The Great
Spirits have been quiet. Manta decides to check out some info he’s uploaded on his computer, but as soon as he turns
it on, it electrocutes him and a flash of a man who looks like he’s trying to escape briefly appears.
Marco explains
that Yoh will be sacrificed when the Gate of Babylon opens. It is the only thing that can stop Hao’s soul from undergoing
the transmigration. Hao will come to the Gate of Babylon in search of Yoh, and at that moment, his evil will be banished forever.
Lyserg still is having difficulties dealing with sacrificing someone who was his friend, but the rest of the X-Laws (Meene,
Kevin, and Muster) do their part to try to cheer him up.
Manta goes to the forest looking for Ryu, who is still grieving
for Lyserg. When he tries to cheer Ryu up, Ryu snaps back that he wants to be alone. That Manta cannot possibly know the sorrow
he feels. That comment hurts Manta pretty bad, and he throws his backpack at Ryu frustrated. He explains that he’s not
a Shaman, so all he can do is watch everyone’s pain and suffering. He’s tried to be their strength, but there’s
nothing he can do. With that, he runs off by himself.
Ryu snaps out of it and goes after Manta to apologize. He originally
thought Lyserg was just confused about his path, but it seems more complex than that. He then tells Manta that he is on the
right path and that everyone believes it is important that he be here.
Before the two can head back to Yoh and the
boys, Lyserg takes Manta as his hostage. He tells Ryu that he has no business with him and summons his angel to fight. calls
Tokugerah but is quickly defeated. He then tells Ryu to give Yoh a message to meet them if they want to see Manta.
When
Ryu tells Yoh about Manta, they decide to go rescue him, knowing full well that they are walking into a trap.
Silva
and Gorudoba watch the X-Laws from beyond, waiting for a word from the Great Spirits.
The X-Laws grand plan is as
follows: The magic formation that is the source of Jeanne-sama and the X-Laws furyoku will soon open the Gate of Babylon.
At that moment, everything in its vicinity will be devoured by it and shall forever disappear into a world of naught. Because
Yoh is an indispensable half of Hao’s own body, he must mean a lot to Hao. Therefore, Hao surely will come to save Yoh,
at which time, he and Yoh will be destroyed.
Yoh arrives and demand they let Manta go. Marco demands he first become
a loyal follower of Jeanne-sama. Yoh agrees, and Marco tells him to go to her and receive his baptism. Yoh drops his medium
and walks over to Jeanne-sama as Manta flips out, concerned. Manta starts screaming and rocking his containment unit back
and forth until Mosuke pops out of his backpack and breaks his container. As Manta falls, Ryu catches him, and the boys prepare
to fight.
Marco is not happy about the progression of events and warns the X-Laws that there isn’t much time.
Jeanne soon emerges and takes the matter into her own hands. She calls forth Syamasu, who restricts the entire group in a
furyoku barring cage. She then pulls them into the circle, but as she does, Hao is there to engulf her in fire.
EPISODE FIFTY SIX: DOOR OF BABYLON
Jeanne struggles under the intense flames of Hao’s Spirit of Fire.
When asked what she plans on doing to Yoh, she replies that she intends to pass righteous judgment on them. Hao is not amused,
engulfs her in flames, and drops her into her iron maiden.
Lyserg drops to his knees in grief. With Jeanne gone, they
have no hope of opening the Door of Babylon. Meene of the X-Laws tries to comfort Lyserg, showing him that Jeanne’s
Over Soul is still holding Yoh and the boys captive, so she must be alive. She is rejuvenating as they speak inside the iron
maiden. Recharges, the X-Laws vow to sacrifice themselves to protect her.
Hao looks down amused at the act of faith
being displayed, but still holding a grudge for them capturing Yoh. His minions attack the X-Laws pretty intensely, destroying
several angels in the process, but the X-Laws keep their faith that Jeanne-sama will rejuvenate.
Yoh and the boys watch
this act with horror. They can’t imagine anyone willing to die a martyr for such a cause. They Over Soul, breaking Jeanne’s
OverSoul, and extinguishing hope that Jeanne is still alive. The remaining X-Laws look to the Iron Maiden in sadness. Yoh
and co., however, are prepared to fight with them against Hao.
Meanwhile, Silva has had enough of just watching the
Hao/X-Law battle and decides to take action. He heads over by way of eagle, but Mikihisa interferes, knocking Silva to the
ground. This may be the opportunity they were looking for to bury Hao.
Back at the fight, Hao and Yoh oppose each other.
Hao decides to Over Soul and test Yoh, but Yoh fights back. At one point, he calls Dai Gokoujin to try to take out Hao’s
spirit. Hao counters and his spirit grabs Yoh. Hao is amused and tells Yoh that he just needs to get a little stronger.
From above, the Gate energy stirs as light emerges from Jeanne’s Iron Maiden. The X-Laws are relieved as they
understand that Jeanne released the OverSoul on purpose to put her entire furyoku into the Gate of Babylon. She tells them
she will try to open the Gate with all her strength, but she can’t guarantee their safety. They agree to shield her
with everything they have as she stands atop the Babylon Tower as it rises to meet the Gate in the sky. Once at the top, she
calls forth Syamasu, who holds the key. He inserts it into a door that appears and a large vacuum sucks everyone into it.
All that is left is a large crater in the ground.
Inside the door, everyone walks along a path and starts to dissolve.
Yoh calls out to his friends and Hao appears. The two exchange silent worlds. Mikihisa and Silva look on as Yoh and the boys
are sent back to earth along with Hao’s group. Hao now believes there’s no point to continuing the Shaman Fight.
EPISODE FIFTY SEVEN: THE SHAMAN FIGHT ENDS?
After the Gate of Babylon, Hao meets up with his former henchman.
Chocolove
dreams of running from Hao’s shaman. His Wind of Laughter has been absorbed and he is powerless. Tamao stands over him
trying to wake him up. Meanwhile, the X-Laws carry Jeanne-sama on a stretcher to her Iron Maiden. Everyone looks for their
fallen, as Faust uses his doctor skills to help Jeanne-sama.
Elsewhere, Ryu climbs up a mountain to find Lyserg crying.
Ryu asks if he’s crying tears of regret. Lyserg counters that he’s crying for Jeanne-sama. He has no regrets in
setting up Yoh to open the Gate of Babylon. Ryu tells him that he believes in him as Mine-san walks towards them. She tells
Lyserg that he no longer needs to follow them. He is a gentle boy and they no longer need to borrow his power. She gives Morphine
back to him and tells him to go. Lyserg doesn’t take the gist well and tells Morphine to go away as he walks the opposite
direction.
Not wanting to interfere with the Great Spirit’s will, Goldbar sends her priests out to continue the
Shaman Fight. Not long after, Hao appears, capturing her with his Spirit of Fire. He declares the Shaman Fight over and sets
fire to the Holy Gounds. Mikihisa walks towards him.
Manta asks Anna if she really knows where Yoh is. She tells him
that she is the future wife of the shaman king and there’s nothing she doesn’t know. They see Morphine coming
towards them.
Horo Horo and Pirika examine his Oracle Bell. In what appears to be a homage to DBZ, it has a list of
all Shamans and their furyoku levels. Horo Horo’s stands at 9060. Hao’s description is far greater, but not mentioned.
Mikihisa
tells everyone to stay back. If Hao is able to capture their spirits, he will fully recover. Mikihisa and Hao then go at it.
Ren
overheard that Hao was going to take on the Great Spirits inside the Gate of Babylon. Hao’s boy, Zinc, aka the 10th
Priest walk up to him and taunts him. 10,000 - is that all the Chousen jiryaketsu can do? That’s not nearly strong enough
to beat Hao. Zinc then offers Ren a partnership with Hao, who can make him stronger. He senses that Ren truly wishes to fight
Yoh, and plays up on that until Ren’s anger flares.
When Anna and Manta find Yoh, he is enjoying a slice of watermelon.
Yoh tells her that Hao already has enough strength. The shaman fight is just an annoying thing in the way of taking on the
Great Spirits. Yoh came all this way to become Shaman King, but he doesn’t want anyone to be killed. If he fights him
in a Shaman Fight, he also will be killed. He apologizes. Anna slaps him and then declares that she is Yoh Asakara’s
wife. She then tells him to go defeat Hao and get the Great Spirits. From each direction, all the boys reunite, surrounding
Yoh.
Inside the Spirit Ground, Mikihisa drops to his knees. He tells everyone to stand back. Hao burns him and tells
him to give Yoh a message that everything will be decided in front of the Great Spirits.
Anna finds Mikihisa lying
severely wounded. Pirika asks if the furyoku info listed in the Oracle Bell is accurate. Hao’s furyoku is 1,000,252.
Everyone starts to worry as it dawns on them that they never had a chance of winning. Yoh takes off his Oracle Bell. Goldbar
asks if that means forfeiting the Shaman Fight. He replies that’s not his intention and asks if the priests could nurse
Mikihisa and those injured back to health. Silva will lead them to the Great Spirits.
Ren isn’t quite ready to
go yet and takes the opportunity to fight Yoh one last time.
EPISODE FIFTY EIGHT: FLAMING ANGEL
No one quite knows what’s going on since Hao attacked the base,
the place where the road to the Holy Ground of the Stars is. The X-Laws make their way to a doctor for Jeanne-sama. When Millie
asks Marco where Lyserg is, he tells her that Lyserg is no longer with them.
Ren demands that Yoh fight him, to the
surprise of everyone. Jun backs him up, asking him to listen to Ren. Ren and Bason prepare as Yoh calls Spirit of Sword. Ren
asks what Yoh is doing. He replies that he will fight with everything he has. Ren retorts if that’s true, why did he
just reducing his oversoul. Yoh tells him that he thinks this form is his true self. With a slight prick, he bursts Ren’s
oversoul. Ren then calls forth Bushin. Yoh tells him that when his oversoul is big, his furyoku will be limited. Ren attacks,
but Yoh stands calmly and blocks. Ren starts to understand that bigger OverSouls are draining and reduces his own. They fight
head to head this time until Yoh is pushed backwards. He tells Yoh, that they still aren’t strong enough. Until then,
they both will lose.
Silva leads the group to the Forest of Hairas, the place where Great Spirits are, and the mouth
of the Holy Ground of the Stars. The Great Spirits live in a different dimension, so the group continues forth.
Anna,
Pirika, and Tamao watch over Mikihisa as Manta talks to Mosuke and Morphine through his laptop. Soon, Lyserg walks into the
cave and Manta anxiously follows. Anna uses this as an excuse to follow Yoh, but Yomei shows up and tells her there’s
something she still needs to do.
In the forest, Yoh and the boys are attacked by a large beam. When the smoke clears,
they are standing on a circular plateau. Horo Horo tells everyone to leave as he fights alone. The shaman continues the Beam
as Horo Horo defends. Soon, Faust and Ryu jump in the fight as more of Hao’s henchmen show up. Yoh goes off with Silva
and Karim to find Hao.
Manta comes across Lyserg eavesdropping on the rest of the X-Laws. Marco overhears the commotion
and slaps him, asking him why he’s with Manta. Kevin tries to explain that they will die fighting the X-Laws. Mine-san
takes Lyserg’s Angel Zerual back. She just wants them to watch. Soon, Hao shows up. The X-Laws call their Angels as
Hao checks his meter: 10,500, 8300, and 9700. His Sprit of Fire then takes them all out.
The rest of the priests ask
Zinc why he, as a 10th priest, went over to Hao’s side. Jun and Ren fight as one of Hao’s henchman calls forth
Lucifer. Ren stands ready to fight, telling Yoh to go.
Mine-san falls defeated in front of the X-Laws. Kevin volunteers
to fight next. Hao crushes him, using his Spirit of Fire. They are willing to sacrifice themselves to find out Hao’s
secret. Another of the X-Laws borrows power from three angels to form a protective barrior. He assumes that Hao’s medium
is the atmosphere’s oxygen. Fire burns on oxygen, so if he can burn all the atmosphere oxygen, Hao will be defeated.
He forms a protective barrier and throws a Hand Grenade X to burn up all the fire. All the oxygen is consumed, Hao still stands.
Mine-san steps forth with Zuriel and punches Hao’s spirit, which has changed from fire to water.
Yoh finally
shows up, as Morphine goes over to Lyserg. Hao captures the souls of the three fallen X-Laws and allows his Spirit of
Fire to consume them. Lyserg is pissed now and calls Morphine to protect them and the angels. Morphine consumes them in angel
form, as Jeanne-sama steps out of the Iron Maiden to thank him.
EPISODE FIFTY NINE: SCARED PATH OF THE STARS
Hao enters the pillar of light that will lead to the Great Spirits.
Ren follows, and Yoh and Manta take up the rear. Meanwhile, Lyserg is impressed that Morphine came back to him. He thanks
Marco and Jeanne-sama for traveling with them, but now he must do what he can for his friends. Jeanne-sama wishes him luck
and gives him back his dowsing medium as a parting gift.
Hao and Obacho walk along the pathway. Elsewhere, Ren finds
himself alone. Two of Hao’s minions greet him and a battle ensues. Ryu evens up the odds by joining Ren. They realize
that Yoh must be ahead, so they must get through this battle as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile, Yoh and Amidamaru see
Silva and Karimu along the path. They explain that as priests of Patch, they must protect the Great Spirits. Nichrome joins
them and taunts them, knowing that Gorudoba hasn’t given them permission to be there. He also knows that Silva is a
descendent of Hao.
Manta walks alone and thinks he sees Yoh in the distance. He runs up happily until he realizes it
is Hao. Hao is impressed that a mere human like Manta came this far.
Now knowing that he and Silva must be cousins,
Yoh asks what happened 500 years ago. Silva explains that one of his ancestors was a judge who lived in Patch Village with
his wife and kid. When the Shaman Fight began, that man tried to become the Shaman King himself. When he was foiled, he took
the Spirit of Fire, one of Patch’s five great spirits and left the village. That was Hao 500 years ago. The child was
allowed to succeed him as judge. Generation after generation, that family continued to be among the judges. Because of that,
Silva believes it is his duty to destroy Hao. Nichrome and his priest companion allow Yoh to pass as they prepare to fight
Silva and Karim.
Manta continues to follow Hao as they walk towards the pillar of light. Ren and Ryu are still fighting
Hao’s boys and realize that their opponents’ furyoku keeps increasing. Hao must have given them something greater
than the Chou Senjiryakketsu. Peyote affirms that they did indeed received new strength from Hao and attacks, nearly slicing
Ryu in two, as Horo Horo steps in to block. Meanwhile, Bason blocks football player Bill’s OverSoul tackle, but as Bill
uses up too much furyuko, he drops over, destroying himself.
Hao explains to Manta that he increased his companions’
strength. However, if their bodies can’t handle it, they will be destroyed. Manta can’t believe Hao would do such
a think and warns that he is setting himself up to be betrayed. Obacho denies that they will betray Hao, and Hao laughs and
explains that only the weak will betray their companions.
Yohmei’s wife prays over prayer beads as Anna and
Yohmei look on. He explains that this Senhachijyuu holds 1080 secret arts that can be used to seal Hao. They must restore
them to working order.
Chocolove and Faust join Ren and the boys as a lego-like dino named Broken joins Hao’s
boys. He attacks Horo Horo, but Ren protects him, only to be hit by Peyote’s spirit, which knocks him out. Bason looks
on concerned as Ren lays motionless, bleeding profusely.
EPISODE SIXTY: FRIEND
Ren is sliced down by Peyote’s OverSoul and everyone stares on
in horror. Horo Horo and the boys head over as one of their opponents does his Beam attack. Horo Horo blocks with ice as Faust
performs immediate surgery. Horo Horo, Ryu and Chocolove agree to fight to protect Ren. Horo Horo holds the ice as Chocolove
and Ryu continue to attack. Their opponents talk of the ideal world that Hao will bring about.
Manta continues walking
with Hao and Obacho. Yohmei explains that 1000 years ago, Hao tried to create the Shaman Kingdom, a world with only shamans.
Why the honest Hao, who aspired to become a great Yin Yang master started a rebellion is unknown. At that time, Hao tried
to get other Yin Yang masters to join him. They refused to destroy the world and the human race as Hao talked about erasing
sinful humans from existence. In the end, the Yin Yang masters refused to follow him. Other members of the Asakura family
recognized him as a rebel and destroyed him, but only after suffering terrible losses. The skills the Yin Yang masters used
are now sealed in the Senhachijyuu. It took them 1080 techniques to destroy him then. 500 years ago, they were able to use
the Senhachijyuu and the Futsunomitama (the ceremonial sword that Yoh carries) to defeat the transmigrated Hao. Anna asks
if Hao can really be defeated with the same methods. Yohmei tells her that’s why she and Yoh are here.
As Yoh
runs, one of Hao’s girls attacks with her puppet Oversoul, Phalanx. The three attack, but Yoh dodges easily. He tells
them that he plans on stopping Yoh. He then pulls out his OverSoul and they begin their fight. Meanwhile, the Great Spirits
want Hao to defeat three Guardian Spirit birds, one for Hao and each of his companions. Manta starts to panic, but Hao tells
him not to worry and takes out all three.
Horo Horo tries as best he can to hold back the minions. Meanwhile Faust
finishes up the surgery and uses some furyoku to resuscitate Ren. He asks everyone to help, but at that point, Hao’s
boys break Horo Horo’s ice barrier. Lyserg joins the battle just in time.
Silva and Karimu fight Nichrome and
his companion. Each team uses their combined Oversoul and there is a massive explosion.
Lyserg holds the minions off
as Horo Horo uses a barrier. The others give Ren their furyoku. Lyserg uses the dowser that Jeanne-sama gave him to call forth
Morphine’s OverSoul Angel Advent. Morphine takes out the Oversoul Lucifer and then each of the others. The minions attack
and break through the barrier as Lyserg attacks and is knocked down. Luckily, Ren regains consciousness at that moment and
saves Lyserg in the nick of time. He then surprises everyone by apologizing and then systematically takes each of Hao’s
opponents out.
Meanwhile, Silva and Karimu limp away from the battle victorious.
Yoh takes out the girls’
OverSouls, Smart Boogie, DeathScythe and Phalanx, easily as the girls admit defeat. Silva and Karimu walk up to him. They
continue on their path.
Meanwhile, the boys nurse Lyserg back to health. Chocolove and Faust introduce themselves and
Ryu cries happily that Lyserg came back to them. Then set out to find Yoh.
Yohmei’s wife finishes the ceremony
and Anna picks up the beads and heads to Yoh as quickly as she can.
EPISODE SIXTY ONE: ETERNAL FAREWELL
Yoh defeats the girls and Yohmei’s wife completes the bead ritual.
Anna heads off to meet Yoh., as Hao arrives underneath the Great Spirits and waits for Yoh.
Yoh, Silva, and Karimu
walk towards Hao, who waits by the Pillar of Ilvirakan, the holy foundation that supports the sky, and beyond which lie the
Great Spirits. They see an illusion and three Guardian Spirits, the Deshodoida, appear to test them. Yoh and the priests have
a far more difficult time fighting them than Hao did. As the Guardians again ask to see the spirit, Yoh thinks its strange
that they don’t attack. He tries once again to attack the Guardian, but fails. He then understands that they won’t
do anything unless he attacks first. Yoh walks towards them and tells them they have no reason to fight. He believes this
is his spirit and puts his sword away. He prefers not to fight. They let him pass. Yoh makes his way towards Hao as Manta
looks on happily. The priests aren’t far behind.
The rest of the boys finally make their way to the Pillar and
they too are tested by the Guardians.
Hao explains that he will create a new world. It looks like a fight is inevitable
as Hao calls his Spirit of Fire and captures Silva and Karimu. Yoh cuts them free and attacks Hao. The two fight head to head,
but there’s a huge different in their powers, and when Hao knocks Yoh down, he tries to prove that he could kill Yoh
at any moment. He points his sword at Yoh and announces that’s one time. Obacho looks on and comments that it will be
over soon. Yoh has gotten stronger. There’s no point in Hao merging with someone weak, but the way Yoh is, it would
be ok for them to merge now. Again, Hao knocks Yoh down and threatens him. That’s two.
Ren and the boys give
it all they have, but can’t get past the Guardians. Frustrated, Ren stands up and reevaluates why they fight. They are
fighting to be with Yoh during his fight with Hao. They all attack with Yoh on their minds, and the Guardians disappear. They
then enter the Pillar.
Jun and Pailong head to the pillar and again, a Guardian greets her. Jun attacks the guardians,
but to no avail and just as it looks like she’s going to be knocked out, Anna appears and takes it out with her Shikigamis.
She then goes in as Jun waits outside, not realizing the trick to gaining entrance access.
Yoh is exhausted but continues
to fight. Hao tells Obacho that Yoh is irrelevant and kicks Yoh away. He says the Great Spirits are already his. Ever since
the Spirit of Fire devoured Syamasu, he’s had more than enough power. He no longer needs Yoh. It’s just that Yoh’s
weakness annoys him. Hao takes his hand and pugs it through Yoh’s abdomen. He pulls out his spirit as Anna runs toward
them. The boys witness Hao swallowing Yoh’s spirit and Anna senses what just happened from a distance with complete
horror. She screams Yoh’s name in disbelief.
EPISODE SIXTY TWO: DIE COLLISION
Yohmei’s wife, Kino, senses that Yoh’s spirit is gone.
At
the pillar, everyone is in complete shock as they are flooded with memories of Yoh. Anna holds his lifeless body. Manta drops
to his knees as the realization of the death of Yoh hits hard. Hao explains that Yoh never existed in this world in the first
place. His soul has returned to him, it’s origin. They don’t have to be sad. Ren gets pissed and attacks, but
Hao easily dodges and accuses him of being different from the rest and fighting with anger. Everyone OverSouls, but is taken
out. Ren continues to fight, but again is knocked down.
Anna puts on Yoh’s headphones and tells Hao that she
won’t forgive him. Between the boys and Anna, they decide they must stop Hao. Manta sits in the distance watching Yoh’s
motionless body.
Yoh’s spirit, meanwhile, enters Hao and he floats towards a light. Mikihisa awakens suddenly,
screaming for him not to go. Kino explains that Hao has acquired even more power and if something happens to Yoh… Pirika
can’t understand why they won’t go help Yoh, but Yomei explains that the boys have already surpassed them in strength,
and they would contribute nothing to the battle.
The battle continues, as the Priests warn that they won’t be
able to beat Hao through shear force of anger. Anna decides to use the opportunity to bind Hao, who questions if she can do
it without the Yoh’s medium, the Futsunomitama. She tells him that she will, but Hao throws a prayer flag at her shikigamis
and they turn on her. He taunts that he will teach her how to use Zenki and Kouki. The Priests hold the shikigamis back as
they try to get everyone to listen - that force isn’t the way to defeat Hao.
Meanwhile, as Yoh’s spirit
continues its ascent though Hao’s consciousness, Gorudoba warns that it is starting. The Great Spirits have never failed
to invite a shaman to the Sacred Path. Since ancient times, the one that’s allowed into the Sacred Path of the Stars
is the winner of the Shaman Fight alone. Perhaps the Shaman Fight winner will emerge soon.
Hao uses his Shikigamis
to hold the boys back as he heads off to the Great Spirits. Manta realizes that the boys are being reckless and gets more
and more emotional. Soon, Mosuke appears and encourages Manta to try it. Manta looks at Yoh and musters up enough courage
to go ahead.
The Hao’s confused Shikigami do a number on the boys, but Manta comes running at them from behind
with Mosuke’s spirit in a hammer. He hits both and tries to explain to the boys that even in a normal fight they’d
be troublesome, so there’s no way to win if they lose themselves in anger. They need to calm down and combine strength.
They can still beat Hao. He then falls down, happy that he was able to do it.
After Manta’s words of wisdom,
the boys are then prepared to give it another go and combine their powers. Soon, the seals are gone and they continue.
Yoh
transcends though Hao’s memories of the Yin Yang masters. He hears them wonder if Hao really is human or if he’s
a demon. They think he’ll possess and kill them. They try to stand up to him, but to no avail. He hears Hao dispute
their claims, explaining that humans are fools with worthless existences. Why can’t they believe in him? He sees Hao
extend a hand to him and closes his eyes.
Hao laughs as he shows the Great Spirits his strength. Gorudoba observes
from a distance - how can it be that the one that the Great Spirit accepted is… Hao? No one can believe it, but a number
of the Shamans including Lily Five are not prepared to accept this and decide to head off to join the fight.
Hao then
decides to use his Spirit of Fire to absorb the Great Spirits. The boys show up in time for another round as Anna starts the
ritual. The boys combine to hold Hao still and Anna completes her spell using the 1,080 to create a barrier. She then tells
them all to attack. Everyone attacks with Yoh in mind.
Unfortunately, Hao breaks the barrier, breaking the Senhachijuu
in the process. Hao is pretty cocky and tells them that something that failed 500 years ago isn’t going to work against
him now. Anna drops to her knees, but Ren tries to encourage her. The fight’s not over yet.
EPISODE SIXTY THREE: A PLACE YOU MUST LIVE
Everyone looks on in horror as Hao breaks the binding. The boys step
back up to try again. Hao speculates if they hadn’t met Yoh, they would never have made it this far. Perhaps they would
have become his companions. Ren does Senpo Bushin, but Hao blocks easily. Meanwhile, the rest of the Shaman Fight’s
participants are divided over whether to follow Hao or not. The two sides face each other.
Elsewhere, Yohmei and Kino
wonder if Yoh’s spirit will return. 1008 beads have been destroyed, and he managed to be consumed by his brother’s
Furyoku. They look onward into the pillar in the distance.
The boys continue to fight as Manta regains consciousness.
He has faith that if the boys work together, they will get by somehow. However, again and again, the boys keep coming at him,
not ready to give up. They say that Yoh isn’t dead. Hao tells them that his spirit has been erased from this world.
They tell him that his spirit still lives on in their hearts. Again, they attack, refusing to give up. Ren is certain that
they will win somehow.
Inside Hao’s world, Yoh hears Amidamaru calling him. He wakes up and his body regains
life as his spirit returns. Everyone is ecstatic. He thanks Amidamaru and Anna welcomes him back, handing him back his headphones.
He then asks Hao if they should continue where they left off.
Yoh then attacks an extremely confused Hao. Anna is relieved
that Yoh’s spirit has returned and now knows that everything will be ok. Meanwhile, Hao isn’t quite ready to accept
Yoh’s return just yet.
Outside the pillar, a crowd of shamans gather to watch the ensuing battle. Jeanne-sama
informs everyone that Hao hasn’t gotten his hands on the Great Spirits. She believes there is still hope. As Lily Five
and their companions are surrounded by Hao’s boys, several other shaman show up to fight.
Meanwhile, the boys
keep attacking Hao over and over. He drops to the ground. Obachu asks him what’s wrong. Hao angrily tells him that these
insects are not pushing him around. With that, Obachu runs away from him terrified, telling him he’s not the Hao-sama
he knows. Hao laughs and calls the Spirit of Fire to consume the Great Spirit. He laughs maniacally as a yellow spirit emerges
from the pillar and everyone wonders if he did consume the Great spirits.
Hao is now even more powerful than ever
and vows to scorch everything under his property. With a single blow, he takes out the boys OverSouls. Outside the pillar,
Jeanne-sama asks everyone to pray - there is still hope. Inside, everyone is down but Yoh, who can barely stand. Hao taunts
him to stand up. Yoh calls Amidamaru in Harusame In Utsu no Mitameno Tsurugi. Again, he prepares an attack as Hao calls the
Spirit of Fire. Yoh attacks, but the spirit blocks.
EPISODE SIXTY FOUR: EPILOGUE
With Yoh back in the game, the fight with Hao continues. Yoh calls Amidamaru
in Harusame In Utsu no Mitomeno Tsurugi! Hao in turn calls his Spirit of Fire. Yoh attacks and the two go at it. Yoh attacks
repeatedly, but without results. Again and again, Hao blocks using the power of the Great Spirits, and proud that he’s
finally mastered the Great Spirits after 1000 years. Jeanne-sama asks that everyone pray for Yoh. Yoh continues his attack
and is finally caught by the Spirit of Fire.
Yoh tells him that no matter what, he will never be satisfied. He will
always want more. Hao tells him he is nature’s representative and throws Yoh to the ground. Amidamaru cushions his landing,
but Hao is ready to end Yoh and sends a pillar of fire. Yoh blocks with difficulty at the shear strength of the attack. As
Yoh’s power fades, the boys power up, sending their strength visualized as Guardians into a great tree. The watchers
in the crowd do the same.
Using that power offered from the bystanders, Yoh starts glowing and a large Amidamaru appears.
He vows not to lose and the fight continues. This time, Amidamaru and Yoh are able to match blows with Hao. After a number
of tries, Amidamaru attacks hard, slicing Hao and the Spirit of Fire in two, defeating Hao for good. Soon Patch Village and
everyone in it is engulfed in white light. When the light fades, the pillar and Patch Village has disappeared, and the boys
are standing in the desert.
With Hao defeated, everyone says their goodbyes. Gorudoba explains that the will of the
Great Spirits is to stop the Shaman Fight.
Several months later... Yoh and Anna try to live life as normal
high school students, similar to before the Shaman Fight. At breakfast one morning, Anna asks for seconds. Yoh admits he overslept
and so they’re eating leftovers from last night.
Manta explains that everything has returned to normal and wonders
if everything really did happen? He says that it was the will of the Great Spirits to end the Shaman Fight so the Great Spirits’
power will never be abused like that again.
Everyone goes back to their daily lives. Ryu continues his search for
his Best Place. Horo Horo and Pirika return home. Chocolove finds a job as a chef and continues his comedic act on the side.
Lyserg continues his studies. And Jun asks Ren to go stay at Yoh’s place.
Yoh and Manta sit in the graveyard
where they first met. Yoh needs to make dinner by 7:30, but decides he’d rather stop for food. Manta will stop over
when his night school class is over. As Yoh walks home, Manta wonders what happened to Hao… That night, Anna cooks dinner
as a shooting star falls. In a corner, Yoh’s Oracle Bell goes off.
